Does anyone have any pictures of an Asil skull that they can share?  Preferably in comparisson to that of a more standard breed?  I think we can all agree that one of the many things that makes this bird special is the distinct skull morphology, and I would like to get a better idea of the bone structure if possible, but searching on google hasn't turned anything up.

Hello Crap, there are two types of poultry, one is the socalled Bankiva-type (like American Game, OEG, Spanish Game, etcetera) and two the Malayoid-type (like Asil, Shamo, etcetera). The first group generally stands out by a longer head and narrow beak, the other group shows short, broad skulls with a short thick beak and prominent eyebrowes. See some examples below.

    BANKIVA SKULLS

Thank you very much Willem, these are fantastic pictures.  I was originally asking for pictures of the actual bones, but your pictures of live birds are also great.  I am definitely attracted to the more broader Malayoid skulls; if there are any especially broad and robust examples, I would love to see them!

Hey Crap, I didn’t think Willem was going to come up with that skull.
