I have a brood area of hens and one of my main ones that I already breed her for 2 years she started to actually mate with the other hens. She even started to crow she's 3 years old?? Any one about the mating part??
bro dont worry.. it's natural.. your hen have lot of testosterone harmone. whe know its male harmone.. estorogen is female harmone.. when testesterone increase in female body then hair will grow in face like that.. these happening because of testesterone.. this is same for chicken.. so they start to act like rooster
This can happen for a few reasons. If the hen is left without a mate, or she is geting old,or she has a strong pediagre but a few things of which there is others. In past times game keepers often culled old hen phesents to give the young ones a easy start to nesting sites and habitat. Igot an old motled leghorn at the moment with spurs to match any cock and if given the chance she will top anything and if penned seprate to cocks will crow, I think this is her desprate way of looking for a mate.
