The word "gameness" has caused nothing but confusion and division among cockers. When you look in old game fowl books you will not find the word "gameness" anywhere. The thing that defined the game cock was courage, plain and simple. The word "gameness" is nothing more than a corruption of the word courage. In the past the game cock was described as a cock of the game. The word "game" simply referred to the fight. From the word "game" came "gameness", "deep game" "bitter game" "pit game" and "dead game" LOL.
Is it any wonder that cocking is in the state that it is in now. I think its time to go back to basics and call things by their correct name.
