I dont comment much but i noticed on Facebook everytime i post a pic everyone knows more about my fowl than i do.I am by no means an expert but i know where my fowl started and how they have been bred since i have had them.I have been bredding gamefowl since 1977 and asils since 1982
not too many true enthusiasts anymore. to most people, it's just a trend that can last for a couple months, to a couple years, or to maybe just the first half of their life...strict rules and regulations, (felony for cockfighting) is also shying a lot of people out of the hobby, and those who don't, are keeping it strictly underground, not even browsing internet websites like this and youtube clips of such...so I don't think, and I don'tknow of any other sites, on or outside of FB that is active...even in the asian circles, it's not as active online anymore...it's in my blood, and as much as I would like to be able to lose interest completely, I think I will always raise birds to the end..it's a really hard to beat addiction...i was able to quit smoking cold turkey, keep the drinks to a minimum, but birds...it's one habit I don't think I can beat.
Am still here, frequently visiting the site. But responding depends on the conversations and topics as some are out of my competence or interest. Yes this is still a good site for discussions. Am on many Facebook groups too but as said by a member here, not much space for discussions its all about posting photos and likes. And yes this site often has technical problems caused by the provider. I hope many still enjoy the Asil Club site. Lets keep going and crowing. Regards Willem (AC moderator)
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names
Almost every day here , to view the discussions and also the great pictures which are shared by the members . Best place to get and share information ! I donīt think that facebook is ruining such sites , its a complete diffrent platform. I am with kontra 81 that many of us are in the underground because of the laws and how they can be controlled . Its very easy to find out who ist standing behind posted pictures and discussions, !
I'm not a old member but I can say this much. This site is taken over by crosse's and other breeds. Also people who keeps pure Asil don't want to show. Example look at the rampuri bird that person posted and no one appreciate it. Some times there's members will post good birds no one says damn thing. And also people laugh at some asils they post here and the names they use. I think Facebook gets better recognition for the good birds and likes so why should they come here and when there's no good birds or none of the members appreciate the real pure Asil..
Asil USA, I can say this truthfully that the Asil is my favorite breed of Asian Games and wether or not mine are pure as the driven snow i wonít make that claim. I take a lot of pride and after breeding the Boricuas for a number of generations to my standard I feel I can call them my own hence the name Disciples. Itís sad that folks are leaving for Facebook. So much to learn here if people just ask questions and get involved. I accept new members everyday so we do get new people coming to the Club all the time.
I'm not talking about you Mr.Brady. I do love your birds and they do meet the Asil standards. Plus they have been set as a family of Asil. It's like when you breed your birds it comes out just like the parents. That means it's a set family. Also if you look at the Asil around the world some people breed to there likings and set them as a family. But I'm saying some times people do post good birds here no one says anything because we're so stuck up. But in Facebook when you post a good bird they will like and comment at least more than ten people. Here only one or two some times none. So why would they post pictures or anything. Also like I said this site is just for the name. There's good information about stuff other than that I don't see many good Asils. But lots of other birds.
Asil USA, not many folks around like you and me as far as the passion we have for good Asils. There not a breed that many do well with as they donít understand them like we do. There for folks who have plenty of patience. Iím working with a friend of mine to keep some of the old Atkinson Asils going and look forward to the challenge. They have a long history and we want to keep that history alive and hopefully keep them coming better then they were yesterday. Thanks my friend
Olympia, Good to know your here everyday. As a Moderator Iím on everyday to accept new members and such. I would like to see more topics on things that havenít been covered yet. This is a good site if everyone would be more active especially those from overseas. Letís keep this rockin. God Bless The Mighty Gamecock!!!
Shortheel, that was a great site. Ganoi.com. Miss it. Probably the best site for Orientals there has been. Itís a shame it went south. This is a great site, but the fact is most active guys today arenít using Asils. Iíve always wished someone would breed a line that could compete in todayís games but so far I havenít heard of them. All of the Asian lines have Asil blood in them, though itís a long ways back. The big games today are in the Philippines. Naked heel. Maybe somebody will enter an Asil there. Right now the breeds that dominate are Ga Pluckers, Ganoi and Shamo.
