I have only had about 4 Asil cocks that lived to a ripe age of around ten years before anything could take them down. But for the last 20 years all my Asil were kept free range which is why most didnt make it that old. I have had a bunch of hens though that lived lived longer than that. I had a hen that I hatched off of my first Spangle Asil cock when he was five years old, around 15 years ago. The hen died of old age in my aunts barn about 3 months ago. She was Asil crossed to a Allen Round head American Game hen with spurs... I then bred her 3/4 asil daughters back to the grandfather spangle Asil once more. Those daughters I bred to a giant Ronnie Proffitt Shamo, Those daughters I bred to a giant red North Indian asil. A cock from that brood to a south indian hen. The son of that breeding back to the prior hens from North indian. The daughter of that brood to my Ike merchant Rajasthan cock... Finally I had those chicks on the ground two months ago, when their original asil cross, great great great great great great great grandmother that started it all, finally died... Thats my free range home brew, which I call SumoAsil. The End, finally! Joey out!
